Finding Peace in a Frantic World (FPFW)

Mindfulness & Stress Reduction

The Finding Peace in a Frantic World (FPFW) group is an 8-week program designed to teach stress reduction through developing mindfulness skills, practicing the skills at home between group sessions, and completing a weekly reading to support learning. FPFW weekly sessions are only an hour and daily home practice training with audios is suggested at 8 – 24 minutes/day.

Weekly Course Themes

  • Week 1: Waking up to your life – Recognizing the default "autopilot" mode that runs daily habits and routines.

  • Week 2: Keeping the body in mind – Shifting from a constant "doing" mode into an accepting "being" mode through physical awareness.

  • Week 3: Mindfulness in daily life (Gathering the scattered mind) – Weaving simple mindful moments and anchors into routine daily tasks.

  • Week 4: Relating differently to thoughts and worries – Seeing thoughts as mental events or creations rather than absolute facts.

  • Week 5: Turning to difficulties (From reacting to responding) – Facing and accepting challenges and discomfort rather than avoiding them.

  • Week 6: Practicing kindness / Your wild and precious life – Cultivating compassion for yourself and others.

  • Week 7: Exploring what nourishes you / Developing balance – Making conscious choices about activities that restore energy and balance.

  • Week 8: Your wild and precious life (Sustaining the journey) – Integrating mindfulness habits beyond the formal course structure
