About the event

No two humans are exactly the same. We are each a little different, and we are SUPPOSED to be different. Therefore, conflict is not only inevitable; it also serves as an opportunity to learn and grow by making sense of more than one perspective. That is actually the origin of the word conflict.  Dia: through; Logue: Greek for “meaning”.

We are born with a brain, whose primary directive is to keep us alive. We are born into a culture that shapes how we see the world, and our adaptations to that culture, in turn, shape how we handle conflict.

Why are so many of us conflict averse or avoidant? Why do people fight? Most of the time it comes down to how we communicate our needs and how we hear another’s request.

The topic is dialogue, and how we can use it to be better listeners, more responsible communicators, and better humans, living in a world full of conflict. Fear not! Conflict is an opportunity for growth.

Join Jeannie Ingram as she walks us through the fine points of healthy dialogue and provides tools to improve our communication and connection with others.
